We took an ITT tour to Ie Island for the Lily Festival. We had so much fun! We hopped on a bus at 7am that took us to the ferry port. Here we are on the ferry.
Once we got to the island we jumped back on our bus and the tour started with a stop at this cool cave with a gorgeous view. Just a couple of days ago Rich dove into the ocean with his phone in his pocket so we lost a bunch of pictures and video from the trip that he had taken. I could cry. I don’t have any pictures of the view but here are a couple from inside the cave.
Aidan and Maya were little adventurers in there.
The next stop was another beautiful view.
Same place but the view off the side of the island was breathtaking!
These little goofs.
Getting a drink.
The most unexpected part of our tour was what awaited us at our next stop. Here we are, completely unsuspecting of what was coming.
We thought we were just going for a nice little stroll…
…through these beautiful tree.
Oh look, a few steps, lets stop and take a picture!
Whoa, this is a little intense but we’ve got this.
Right mom?
In the above picture do you see the little old lady in the black hat standing there resting? Well my mom drew strength from her because she thought that the lady was on her way down. My mom said, “If she can do it I can do it!” Good thing she didn’t know at the time that she was still working her way up, haha!
About 3/4 of the way up!
She did it!!!
You’ll notice that this face was Arabella’s favorite during the whole trip *insert eye roll*
We all did it!
Time to head back down! Here’s a picture of Rich taking a picture that I’ll never see.
Then, on to the lily’s.
As good as it got with these 4.
We decided to be dare devils and walk out on these crazy sharp rocks. Probably not our wisest decision ever but since we risked our kids knees and hands we had to get a picture.
We found this bench we liked so we took some pics.
I loved all of these!
On our way out we stopped by for a horse ride. I’d never seen a Japanese cowboy before but he looked legit!
Maya
Look at that grin!
Arabella
Aidan
Aidan was the best! He started waving his arm around like he had a lasso in his hand.
Eva
I love how the Japanese lady jumped in the picture, haha!
Eva immediately started petting and talking to the horse. She was so precious.
Such a great day trip!
Having my mom with us made it that much better. She’s really catching on to this whole Japanese thing, haha!
WE LOVE YOU, JAPAN!
