Here we are, in February, and I'm just now posting about Christmas. Oh well.
We made the 7 hour drive and our first stop was in Kimberling City to stay with the newly weds! It was our first time visiting my mom and Leon in their home and it was a really nice visit. Their home is beautiful and cozy. Wish we could have stayed more than a day!
We had so much delicious food, as usual. My mom made Navajo tacos and pozole. One of my favorite things to do when I visit my mom is do her hair. We weren't going anywhere but I love doing her hair and she loves it when I do it.
After our day and night spent with them, we headed to the Rockwoods to get the Christmas partying started, starting with gingerbread houses!
On Christmas Eve we had our big feast and then the kids re-enacted the nativity. Maya was Mary, Aidan was a wise man and Arabella and Eva were angels.
Merry Christmas Eve!
This year we stayed with the Rockwoods so after the party we went back to their house and changed into our Christmas jammies and got ready for Santa to come!
Uncle Jeffrey read "The Night Before Christmas"
Eva was tuckered out and didn't even last until bedtime. Don't worry though, she got a second wind after she woke up when we were putting her to bed.
Christmas morning the kids were so excited! They got a Nintendo switch as their family gift.
I don't think anybody was as excited or got more use out of their gift as Eva. She LOOOOOVES her makeup!
We took advantage of having the whole family together and sang happy birthday to Arabella.
Maya loves that she has fun cousins to do non-girly things with.
We had a great visit and made it home just in time for everyone to get sick.
Eva tested positive for strep and Maya tested negative for both strep and the flu. 4 days later they called us and said Maya had actually tested positive for flu B. It made total sense because she was so sick for over a week. She was sad that she spent most of her Christmas break feeling horrible and sleeping.
She had sweet Lily to keep her company.
