We had some good times this weekend. The closer we get to the end of our Florida time the more I am realizing all of the things I’m going to miss. I’m gonna get all mushy here for a minute. The one word I would use to describe our Florida years is:
ADVENTURE
It was such big change for both Rich and I and one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. It’s a 2 day drive from family and drastically different our little hillbilly homes but we have LOVED every single second out here. I remember when we moved into our 1st place, we were absolutely living the dream in our minds! The palm trees, cultural diversity and smoldering heat…it was heaven on earth. I have to say, I’ve never stopped loving it here. To say that I am going to miss Florida is an understatement.
This is what we did this weekend:
You better believe we are taking advantage of the beach! And yes, Aidan had to pee.
Aidan rarely stops running and splashing once we get to the beach.
Hunting for seashells.
We have been having so much fun at the beach now that the kids are older. It’s not so much work any more. The kids have so much fun, especially Maya. She’s such an outdoorsy kid.
Today, we spent the day at the park just hiking around Mt. Trashmore. It is exactly that, a mountain made out of trash. Those are the only mountains hills we have in Florida. It was a gorgeous day for a hike.
We parked on one side of the hill and then walked to the park. Right before we got there we were joined by a duck who begged the kids for their apple chips.
When we got to the park we had another little surprise…RAIN!!! With our car on the other side of the hill we had to be a little creative.
That was fun. Crazy and fun. After much park playing we headed back. We stopped to get a picture where we will be getting our very own brand new DAVIE, FLORIDA TEMPLE! The temple will be seen from the top of the hill, right behind the kids. Sad we won’t be here to enjoy it but so happy for all of our friends who will.
This weekend was one of the best ever!
