The day after we got there was Rich’s set up day. He dropped off his bike and bags. There were SO MANY!
While Rich was setting up, the rest of us had a picnic. I fell in love with Coeur d’Alene. It was so beautiful there!
Then, we went to check out the lake where Rich would be swimming 2.4 miles.
Then we did some shopping and headed out.
Aidan was obsessed with Uncle John’s hat. He actually ended up giving it to him!
It was cool walking around seeing all of these athletes that had the same goal and interest as Rich. Julie and I joked about how maybe people were looking at us thinking we were the ones that were going to participate, hahaha! Julie maybe but definitely not me! It was a fun environment to be in.
That night we went to bed semi-early so that Rich could get a good nights sleep since he had to be there early. Eva ended up being pretty sick that night and was throwing up and needing to be suctioned and she had a horrible rash on her bum so it definitely wasn’t a quiet and restful night for any of us. Regardless, race day came and it didn’t go quite like Rich had expected it would…
