I’ll start with our Sunday selfies. I love doing these!
I got really out of my blogging routine a couple of months ago and as I was looking back at pictures on my phone I decided this needed to be a big “catch-up post” so here goes all kinds of random stuff.
Maya’s teacher sent me this picture of the kids all dressed up in kimonos in Japanese class.
My favorite kind of emails.
A while back we went to an event at the kids’ school and they did this fun race over and over again.
Maya was busy doing her homework and Eva decided she also had some work to get done.
My conversation with Eva after her bath.
Every morning, before the kids go to school, we stop at the bottom of the stairwell and say a prayer. A few days ago, Eva and I were heading out to run some errands and I sat down at the bottom of our stairwell to put my shoes on. She said, "Yes mom, let's say a prayer." And proceeded to say the prayer..."Dear Heavenly Father, amen!" Then we were on our way. I happened to have my phone in my hand and snapped this.
Arabella lives to do "projects" every single day of her sweet little life. The other day she wanted to fly a kite but since we don't have one she got busy with her little project supplies and made one. She spent at least an hour running back and forth "flying" her kite. I love this girl!
We went to a “movie in the park” event that the base was having this past weekend. Nevermind that we only got about 10 minutes into the movie before it started to downpour. Look at Rich back there looking all healthy.
We made up for it at the festival on Foster the next day where Eva rode her first ride. I love Aidan’s expression in these.
We got the whole thing on video but it didn’t do Eva’s awesome reaction justice. She was laughing the best laugh and had the most joyful shrieks. It was so fun to watch her experience that.
Afterwards we headed to the mall to try our first Melon-Pan-Ice, a Japanese treat. This sign cracked me up.
Here’s the thing though….it is true!!! It really was amazing and I’ve been craving it since! So freakin’ good!
This is how we are gonna keep putting weight on this guy, haha!
I’m excited and ready to keep up with our happenings now that everybody is well. I have to admit, everything that has gone wrong since we got to Okinawa had me wishing we could just go back home. We still have a couple of battles to fight to keep us here but the difference between now and a couple of months ago is now I want to fight them. I love all of the fun and unique experiences we can have out here and as long as we are able we all want to stay.
