Oh blogging, you always win that toss up. If there is anything I hate it’s being too busy to blog. It’s both a good and bad thing because usually I’m busy having fun and that’s why I can’t find the time to sit down for a good half hour and sort out my thoughts. That has definitely been the case this past week and a half. We were visited by two of my favorite people…my in-laws! They got here late Wednesday the 17th and the very next morning Grandma jumped right in to being Grandma:)
Our first outing with them was to my favorite place on earth, Temple Square! I won’t go into all of the emotions that flooded me because this post will just take too long but lets just say I was bursting at the seams with emotions and stories to tell at every single display there! Pics from the day:
The Flagpole, where many of my incredible experiences began. (At the base of the flagpole is where every tour starts)
This was one of my favorite scenes from our visit to the Square. This is the section we called Eternal Families. I spent many hours around this display and often watching the cute cupcake commercial which was a running joke in my mission. It was really kind of weird and exciting to combine my past life with my present life. Special moment.
Pretty sure Aidan watched the same commercial 10thousand times!
He just decided this was how he was gonna smile today.
Good pics with the kids are so hard to come by. *sigh*
Love this one.
Pics in front of the temple! (Photography lesson I learned: I really need to work on making sure I get a straight shot. It’s an easy fix if I edit it but I’m to lazy to do it:)
Leaving the Square:(
It was a great day! That night we took the kids to the Dinosaur Park for some early trick-or-treating. It was fun and cold! We should have known with weather that cold we would soon be getting snow. We woke up to our first snow a couple days later!
Day 1 of snow:
Day 2 of snow:
Day 3 of snow:
We headed out to Snow Basin and what do you think we found? Double the snow!
We had a good time throwing snowballs at Grandma and Grandpa. Hahaha!
Earlier that day we went to the Air Force Museum:
Funny.
In between all of this, mom and I were shopaholics! She helped me so much with figuring out how in the heck I was gonna pull my house together. So grateful for all of her help and patience with me.
Somewhere in the middle of all of this we took them to experience the divinity that is Café Rio. Yum.
We also squeezed in a visit to the zoo. Riding the carousel!
I was there during all of this, I promise!
On Thursday night we had dad’s childhood friend and his wife over for dinner. It was so fun to see them together and to hear funny stories from when dad was a kid. Some people just never change. Lol!
Buddies:D
Date night, finally! We went to Prairie Schooners and had a good ol’ time.
Good food and a good time. Also, it was good to see old friends again;)
Early the next morning, Rich had his 50 mile run, but that is for another post. It was amazing! After his run we left him to his massage and took a little drive up to Aidan’s school.
The view in front of his school.
Those were the last pictures I took with our visitors. They left early the next morning:( I sure love them! I felt like I was so low on energy during most of their visit because my immune system decided that it hated me. I got strep, a cold and laryngitis all in 1 week! Mom & Dad, thank you for coming to visit! I promise next time I will have as much energy as the energizer bunny AKA mom.
It was a good visit.

You know what I'm talking about! I just can't keep up or live up to her energy! Sometimes I felt bad sitting on the couch while she was cleaning my living room. LOL!
