This day, just like every other day, we packed in as much as we possibly could. We started our day with a visit to Kanazawa Castle. The grounds were beautiful.
There were lots of workers meticulously picking at the ground. What were they picking? No idea but it was obvious the care that goes in to making Japanese gardens as beautiful as they are.
Every time I saw one of these cute bridges I just couldn’t help but picture the kids sitting on it, so I made them do it, lol!
This one is blurry but you can really see how beautiful and green it was there.
As we wandered around we saw these 4 beautiful Japanese girls in kimonos. I asked if I could take a picture of them.
After I took their picture, hoards of people came and asked them if they could have a picture with them. We backed away and then 2 of them came and asked if they could get a picture with our kids.
Then we came across the oldest fountain in Japan!
At the fountain this group of kids came up and asked if they could ask us some questions. They were most interested in the more American looking one of us, haha!
Another bridge…kids are clearly over it.
We really enjoyed our morning here. I’ve gotta throw in this extra picture of Eva in the gift shop.
After Kanazawa we got some lunch and went to explore the old parts of town. It was so neat to see these traditional neighborhoods with homes that had probably been in the same family for centuries.

Our last stop of the day was the train station. Rich had read about a really impressive torii that we just had to see and I have to say, it was IMPRESSIVE!
This thing was made out of intertwined wood! It was well worth the hassle getting there. By the end of the day we were all exhausted and ready to get to our next Airbnb. It was tiny with just 2 full beds for a family of 6 but it worked for one night.
These were adventures that we will never forget!
