One thing is for sure, life doesn’t wait until I’ve finished blogging one life event before it gives me enough to keep me busy for another 2 months! It’s been so busy and I’ve been trying desperately to finish documenting our amazing Mainland trip that now I’m backed up to Halloween! So, here we go…
We got back from our Mainland trip and jumped right back into school life which included project after project, spirit week, book reports and career day.
Arabella’s book and character she picked was “Lost Little Unicorn” of course.
Aidan read a Magic Tree House book about ninjas. Maya chose the career of a farmer.
Spirit week
Then there was Halloween. I can’t even say what our kids were for Halloween because we went to 3 different Halloween parties and they were each something different for each one of them.
This was our first party with the kids karate dojo. Maya was a skeleton bride, Arabella was a queen, Eva an owl and Aidan a ninja.
I didn’t get any pictures at the next party but Arabella was a unicorn, Aidan was a cowboy and Eva was a Minnie Mouse fairy…she picked it out.
Then Halloween night they all changed it up. Aidan was a vampire, Maya was a ninja, Arabella was a skeleton bride and Eva was a princess riding a unicorn.
Some other random goodness.
Maya and Arabella collaborated on an art piece. I call it “Kissing Ponies”
Eva silliness
My cute girl!
On to Veteran’s Day. We always look forward to this day being in the military. We have the best parades and the feeling of patriotism is so strong.
Eva cracks me up with her little cross-eyed trick she likes to do. She’s figured out that looking at her finger makes her cross-eyed and makes me laugh.
The parade
The service members don’t throw the candy they actually hand it to each and ever little kid.
Cutest future little service members!
Military dogs
Rich’s favorite food truck.
I can say, now more than ever, that I am grateful for the sacrifices of our soldiers. Being in the military has given me an even bigger understanding than just being grateful for the actual service member himself, though. The family of that soldier that goes on deployments or constantly on TDY, they also have my utmost respect, gratitude and admiration. I feel very lucky to not be left to hold down the fort as often as many of the women I know. They make such a sacrifice and deserve every bit of credit as their husbands. Land of the free because of the brave? Absolutely!
