Feels Like Spring…Finally!

It has finally gotten warm enough for the kids to play in the sprinkler! They have been asking almost daily when they would be able to play at the splash pad just down the street. My response in the beginning was when the snow melts. The snow on the ground melted and they were ready to go out, even though it was 50 degrees outside. My new response has been, when the snow melts on the mountains:) Well, the snow on the mountains hasn’t melted yet and the splash pad isn’t open yet but it has gotten in the mid 80’s so it was sprinkler time!

I’M BACK!!!!

Oh, HALLELUJAH I’m back! I finally feel like a functional human being again and I don’t think it’s possible to put into words how happy I am! Sooooo, as it turns out, I was ANEMIC! Hello! No wonder I felt so crappy all of the time and just couldn’t hardly function! As soon as I found out I was anemic I started taking a higher dose of iron pills and then a friend that used to be a midwife recommended chlorophyll and it has made all of the difference. It’s been a good 4 days of feeling on top of the world(except for my lower back) and I’m absolutely in heaven!
Have I mentioned how HAPPY I am? Oh I have? Ok:)
So, moving on…Yesterday I hosted the officer wives potluck group. We have it once a month and I always look forward to the delish food and great company. It was a blessing in disguise that I had signed up over 4 months ago to host this month. When I signed up I didn’t foresee us moving and me being pregnant and feeling horrible for such a long time but the blessing was that it forced me to get our house clean and in order. Our place looks and feels so homey and good! I will have to take some pictures for a future post. Here are some pics from Potluck group last night. We had to make something from pinterest that we had never made before. I made Oreo Truffles that were delish. Actually, every single dish was delish!

We all decided that we would make potluck night a yoga pant night as well. Makes sense doesn’t it?
So glad to be back to my old self! Time to have some fun again!

You Know What They Say…

When it rains it pours! Now, I am exaggerating because in reality things haven’t been that bad but they haven’t gone quite how we imagined they would.  Since arriving in Utah we have just not been able to shake the icky germs that are keeping us down! Maya was sick when we got here then Aidan has been showing signs of stress with random things he’s been doing. Maya got an infection, I got strep then Arabella got strep. It hasn’t even been 2 WEEKS!!! What is going on here? I’m gonna knock on wood when I say this but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m functioning at my full capacity thanks to antibiotics and all the kids are starting to feel better too.
One thing I have learned during this whole ordeal is that I am an absolute WHIMP when it comes to being displaced. I haven’t always been this way but since I’ve been a mom I have to have a stable home, order and routine. These are musts for me to function. I don’t know why but I feel totally and completely handicapped when these things are missing. I can not even begin to describe how excited I am to move in to our new house! 2 months is waaaaaay too long to be bouncing around.
As much as it kills me to not be able to document EVERYTHING that has happened in our lives during the past 3 months, I realize it is a blessing. I feel so blessed for all of the adventures and opportunities that have been placed in our path. 6 years ago I never would have imagined that we would be doing so many wonderful things, meeting so many incredible people and seeing all that we have seen. I also never, ever imagined how busy I would be with 3 little ones! When there are too many great things happening in your life that you just can’t keep up with them…..yeah, life is good :D

Before Noon

It amazes me how much can happen(go wrong) before noon. Before Aidan started school we usually just hung around the house with not too much to do. Now that Aidan is in school we are a lot busier. I actually really love it because it has given us a reason to get up and out of the house every day. It’s only been a little over a week of our new schedule but I’m already debating on changing my blog title to, “Adventures Of A Stay-At-Home Mom” because since Aidan has been in school, every day has been an adventure! Today was no exception.
8:50~As we were driving to Aidan’s school I heard Arabella gag and when I turned back she was spewing out all of the oatmeal that she had for breakfast…Aidan was late to school due to the unbelievable amount of vomit I had to wipe off of her.
10:10~We were late to Arabella’s appointment with Dr. Singer because I had to go back home to change her clothes. GREAT NEWS THOUGH, Dr. Singer looked at Arabella’s stoma and was shocked to see that it had closed up completely! To quote him, he said “That’s incredible!”. That, coming from a guy that see’s lots of stomas. I was beaming:) We are going to go ahead with the surgery next week but it will be an outpatient surgery, purely for cosmetic reasons. YAY for Arabella!
11:15~Took the girls to the park by our house for 30 minutes of play time. They were having a good time and I was enjoying watching them when about 5 minutes into it Maya yells, “It was an accident!” Not again. She had another accident! I mean, the girl basically potty trained herself so I shouldn’t complain but I don’t understand why she’s suddenly having so many accidents. Anyhow, there was no saving this one. There was sand at this park and pee and sand don’t mix…they stick. I had to run home, wash her off and change her clothes.
11:45~Finally ready to run out the door to get Aidan and the unpredictable Florida weather decided to make my day a little more exciting. It starts to POUR! Have you seen a Florida downpour? It made for some extra fun. Luckily it stopped before we got to Aidan’s school.
Good times. Just another day at the office ;)

Random Happenings

Did you know that you can give your kids a cup and a pile of rocks and they’ll be entertained for a really long time?

It’s true. Try it!
We initially went out to release a baby lizard that had been starved. I saw it in one of the kids toy bins a few days ago and just ignored it because that’s what you do when you live in Florida. They are harmless and don’t bother me as long as they are little. Anyway, I saw it again in the same bin days later. It was so skinny so I put it in a cup and released it into the wild in front of my house.

Can you see it? It’s to the left of the raisin I also put out there for it to attract ants for it to eat. Clever, I know ;) Poor little guy.
In other news, we got another table for the kids from Ikea. Their table only seats 2 and Arabella was feeling left out. They were so excited. They just HAD to eat breakfast there.

I couldn’t handle how cute it was that Maya’s feet didn’t reach the ground.

Can she stay little forever? Please!
